Chancellor Morris J. Anderson of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system has named Jerry Janezich to the system's Government Relations team. Janezich will serve as liaison to state, local and federal government. He served eight years in the Minnesota Senate, four years in the House and most recently was a candidate for the U.S. Senate.
"Jerry will be a very effective advocate for Minnesota State Colleges and Universities," said Anderson. "His passion for higher education, combined with his knowledge of workforce issues and strong relationships with labor will enable him to advance the vision and the needs of our network of 35 institutions."
Janezich, 50, attended Hibbing Community College and earned a bachelor's degree from St. Cloud State University. He will start November 9.
Minnesota's 31 state community and technical colleges, and universities serve more than 430,000 students across the state.
