Interim President Named for Minnesota West Morris J. Anderson, chancellor
of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system, has appointed
Lori Voss interim president for Minnesota West Community & Technical
College, which has campuses in Canby, Granite Falls, Jackson, Pipestone
and Worthington.
Voss will replace Ralph Knapp, who is retiring June 30. Anderson said
Voss will serve until a permanent president is appointed by the Board
of Trustees in July. The board is expected to chose among four finalists.
Voss, a resident of Canby, is vice president of finance and human resources
for Minnesota West. She began her career in higher education finance in
1986 at Southwestern Technical College, which became a campus of Minnesota
West in 1997. Before 1986, she worked as a certified public accountant
in Canby.
The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities is the largest provider
of higher education in the state of Minnesota. The system includes 36
state universities, community colleges, technical colleges and comprehensive
community and technical colleges in 46 communities around Minnesota and
a campus in Japan. The system serves approximately 145,000 students.
