January 27, 1998 - Legislative "Hotline" and Weekly Reports Begin

With the start of the 1998 session of the Minnesota Legislature, the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities has launched its legislative communications programs available to those interested in issues affecting higher education.
The system's legislative hotline can be accessed by calling toll free 1-888-MnSCU-4-U (1-888-667-2848). The recording is updated Friday afternoons at about 3 p.m. Later in the session, the system office will also update the report on Tuesdays.
Weekly legislative reports will also be available Friday afternoon on the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Web site under "The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Governments Relations Legislative Updates".
The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system is the largest provider of higher education in the state of Minnesota, serving more than 145,000 students in the fall quarter and a total unduplicated student headcount of 230,000 for an academic year. The system includes state universities, community colleges, technical colleges and comprehensive community and technical colleges in 46 communities around Minnesota.
