October 13, 1997 - MnSCU system office to move to World Trade Center - Move complete on Monday, Oct. 27, 1997

The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system office is moving to the World Trade Center, 7th and Cedar streets, downtown St. Paul, as of Monday, Oct. 27, 1997.

Because of the move, many computer links with the MnSCU system office will be interrupted beginning Oct. 22, until Monday morning, Oct. 27. Phone lines will be disengaged Friday morning, Oct. 24, until sometime Monday, Oct. 27.

MnSCU will occupy three floors of the World Trade Center. MnSAT, a television production studio that is part of the college and university system, is based on the fifth floor of the building.

The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities central office has occupied temporary space on four floors at the Capitol Square Building in St. Paul, since the merger that formed the system on July 1, 1995. The vacated space will be occupied by the Department of Children, Families and Learning. The Minnesota office of the Akita, Japan, campus will remain in the lower level of Capitol Square.

MnSCU is the largest single provider of higher education in the state of Minnesota. The system serves approximately 145,000 students on 54 campuses and includes state universities, community colleges, technical colleges, comprehensive community and technical colleges.
