May 30, 1997 - Lee Kerschner resigns as MnSCU executive
Lee R. Kerschner, executive vice chancellor/chief operating officer for
Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU), has announced that
he will resign from the organization effective July 1, 1997. He will return
to California to work as a consultant.
"I came to Minnesota because Chancellor [Judith] Eaton asked me
to serve with her," said Kerschner. "With her resignation from
MnSCU, I tendered my own, so the new chancellor, Morrie Anderson, has
the ability to reorganize his executive staff and select his own COO."
Kerschner's 35-year career includes positions with the California State
University system, the California Master Plan Commission for Higher Education
and the Colorado Commission on Higher Education.
He and his wife, Helga, will live at their permanent California residence,
P.O. Box 748, Weimar, CA 95736.
MnSCU serves approximately 145,000 students at its state universities,
community colleges, technical colleges and comprehensive community and
technical colleges.
