May 21, 1997 - MnSCU Board of Trustees delays action on seven appointments
The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) Board of Trustees
decided today to postpone until June the appointment of presidents for
seven member colleges and universities.
MnSCU has conducted nationwide searches to fill presidencies at Anoka-Hennepin
Technical College in Anoka, Lake Superior College in Duluth, North Hennepin
Community College in Brooklyn Park, Red-Wing/Winona Technical, Rochester
Community and Technical College, Southwest State University in Marshall
and St. Cloud Technical College.
MnSCU Chancellor Judith Eaton was scheduled to make recommendations today
on the appointments. These recommendations and board action will now occur
at the June 18 board meeting. Board members said they needed more time
to consider the appointments.
MnSCU serves approximately 145,000 students at its state universities,
community colleges, technical colleges and comprehensive community and
technical colleges. The system includes 53 campuses around the state,
plus the Akita campus in Japan.
