Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

Inver Hills seeks a Director of Business Services to provide leadership and management oversight for the college business services, which includes accounting, receivables, payables, treasury function, budgeting, purchasing, payroll, financial reporting, and fixed asset management. The incumbent will insure all services are provided in compliance with all federal, state, and MnSCU laws, rules, policies, and procedures as well as modern business practices and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage accounting and general business services.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive policy and procedures manual.
  • Construct and maintain the college’s accounting structure.
  • Manage all accounting records consistent with GAAP. Serve as a primary contact for all audits.
  • Establish proper internal controls. Approve all computer security requests.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field and three (3) years of professional accounting work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience supervising professional, technical and/or clerical accounting staff.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices including a thorough understanding of GAAP.
  • Considerable knowledge of the State’s appropriation, budgetary, and accounting systems.
  • Considerable knowledge of federal government accounting, auditing, and reporting requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and various database and report generating programs, such as, Microsoft Access, Hyperion, Crystal, etc.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally.
