Responsibilities:
Provide campus technology support services related to basic Windows, Macintosh computers, peripherals, software and connecting networks, Audio/Video systems, and phone systems technology.

  • Maintain the Open Computer Labs and adjacent Learning Commons and Library areas technology systems and assigned technology hardware, software and services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot A/V and video conferencing equipment.
  • Ability to understand, assess and implement complex data processing systems, software and equipment sufficient to make recommendations for purchase and implementation.
  • Writing skills sufficient to provide clear objectives and supporting documentation.
  • Ability to listen effectively and to understand oral and written English descriptions of problems.
  • Ability to balance priorities, organize work and maintain complete and accurate records as required by the department.
  • Ability to lift items such as computers over 25 pounds individually, moving, stooping, bending, sufficient to perform assigned technical or non-technical services within reasonable response times to address campus technology needs.

This is a full-time, probationary position within the Advance IT Minnesota department. This position provides leadership and oversight for the IT Residency component (8-credit, multi-semester work experience) of the Application and Web Development programs at both Metropolitan State University (launching in fall 2014) and at Minnesota State University Mankato (launching in fall 2015).   • Plan and execute student recruiting efforts with faculty and staff at MnSCU institutions offering two-year programs that prepare students for admission to the FUSION programs.
  • Use established communication channels and relationships to elevate awareness of the FUSION programs among two-year faculty and advisors.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, education, leadership, IT or other field related to education and career development.
  • Minimum of three years of work experience in roles that include both of the following responsibilities (need not have been concurrent):
  • Supervisory role, preferably in a professional setting, OR a role supervising student interns who worked with external employers;
  • Role that required outreach and relationship development with private sector organization (sales, fundraising, partnership development, etc.)
  • Evidence of excellent interpersonal communication skills;

5. Classification, Compensation, and Benefits Administration: Provide leadership, direction, and policy and procedure development and implementation in the areas of classification, compensation, and benefits administration.

  • Direct and manage the position classification system.
  • Conduct or delegate job audits authorized to the campus, or submit appropriate audit documentation to the system office.
  • Advise administrators and managers on organizational structure and staffing patterns.
  • Administer compensation systems to ensure equity among salary levels and advise administrators and managers on appropriate salary levels at point of hire and upon promotion.

6. HRIS Systems Administration: Supervise the administration of the State College and University Personnel Payroll System (SCUPPS) and the State of Minnesota SEMA4 systems to provide timely and accurate transactions, payroll, and information for university employees. 7. Personnel Management and Supervision: Provide supervisory authority for direct reports in the areas of human resources, payroll, and affirmative action to achieve the objectives of each area.
