About the Foundation

Since its creation in 1968, the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Foundation has worked to ensure the mission and vision of the system remain synonymous with affordability, accessibility and quality. Much of this has been made possible by the generosity of corporate, foundation and individual donors.

In addition to leveraging additional resources for the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system and its initiatives, the Foundation plays a pivotal role in advancing the system’s mission. By educating individuals on the system’s Strategic Framework or enabling new partnerships with area corporations, the Foundation strengthens the link between the system and its external partners.

The information the Foundation receives from its philanthropic partners is shared with the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees, which helps to ensure that systemic planning is based on “current day realities,” not yesterday’s presumptions.

Higher education has become a broader and more diverse community. The perception of the isolated “ivory tower” continues to be challenged, as our colleges and universities are partnering with local school districts, neighborhood organizations, prominent foundations and corporations to improve the way of life in communities throughout Minnesota and beyond.

If you are currently giving to the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Foundation, thank you. If you are considering a gift to support our students, we extend a sincere invitation to join in ensuring the vitality of our 31 state colleges and universities.
