PTC is proud to offer a comprehensive A.S. degree in health science. The 60-credit degree includes focused coursework in the health sciences along with a range of well-paired general education courses. The program provides a solid foundation of health and science courses that will be required of students seeking a career in the medical field; moreover, it acts as a springboard to more specialized healthcare and/or science careers. After completion of the program (or partial completion), graduates may choose to transfer to another institution and pursue a more focused area of healthcare or science to study and earn additional certificates, diplomas, or degrees in a specialized area.
For example, other institutions and programs such as Winona State University, which offers bachelor degrees in exercise and rehabilitative sciences, athletic training, and nursing; Anoka-Ramsey Community College, which offers associate degrees in physical therapy; Century College, which offers programs in dental assisting, orthodontic technology, prosthetic technology, and many more; Lake Superior College, which offers specialized programs in diagnostic medical sonography, radiologic technology, surgical technology, and more; St. Cloud Technical and Community College, which offers programs in cardiovascular technology, dental hygiene, and more are just a few. Health Science - Broad Field students should plan to build upon their degree(s) with additional, focused education and training in a specific medical arena.
