This career major prepares people to work in the fields of engineering drafting, computer graphics, and product engineering. Designs from this area provide the plans for new machines, computers, cars, aircraft, and aerospace equipment. Those working in this field would be expected to make dimensioned engineering drawings for use by manufacturing facilities, produce dimensioned engineering drawings with computer (CAD), update present engineering drawings as required, and assist engineers in improvement of old products and/or development and layout of new products. This program has a strong emphasis in CAD training which includes: AutoCAD, Cadkey, and Pro/Engineer. With this versatility of CAD knowledge, job opportunities are enhanced.
