It will also serve graduates and other Para-Educators and staff within the field of early childhood education expand their expertise in the area of Special Education. The courses will cover three primary areas: (1) ways to collaborate with licensed special education staff to serve those children already identified with special needs; (2) ways to recognize needs, behaviors and characteristics that indicate when to refer children for additional special needs assessments, and (3) addressing the needs of those children not qualifying for special education services but that have recognizable needs.
