preprofessional programs, many customizable
through an emphasis area, concentration or
specialization; more than 400 courses offered
online for distance learners.
- World view and responsibility: All students study
global, environmental and civic stewardship through
the liberal arts requirements. Recognized nationally
for programs, courses and activities that address
social and environmental concerns.
- Small classes: More than half of the classes have
20 or fewer students; only 5 percent of classes
have 50 or more students.
- Personal attention: Low student-to-faculty ratio of
19-to-1. Professors are accessible outside of class.
- Excellent students: One of the top Minnesota state
universities for the percentage of new freshmen
enrolled who ranked in the upper 25 percent of their
high school classes.
- Affordable tuition: Students may take 12 to 18
credits for the same flat rate. Resident or reciprocity
tuition rates are available to all undergraduates.
- Athletic-academic champions: Since 2000, nine
Bemidji State University athletes have been named
Academic All-Americans. In 2006, the football
team captured the Northern Sun Intercollegiate
Conference championship title.
