The Minnesota Job Skills Partnership was
created in 1983 to bolster cooperation between business and education.
The program, which is offered through the Minnesota Department of
Employment and Economic Development provides matching funds to employers
who commit to work with educational institutions in trying new training
approaches to upskill their workforce. These funds flow directly
to a college, university or other non-profit training organization
that manages each training project.
Historically, the vast majority of grant
funding has been awarded to members of the Minnesota State Colleges
and Universities System.
