Minnesota State Community and Technical College partnered with Case IH & New Holland to form its Forging the Future Partnership. The program trains students in diesel and heavy equipment technology.

Students benefit by receiving on-the-job training and education, learning how to service Case IH & New Holland equipment. Graduates of the program have a variety of opportunities within the service industry focusing on the equipment.

Case IH & New Holland benefit by training local students who receive supervised occupational work experiences at sponsoring dealerships and employment during the academic year.

An increasing backlog of patients needing diagnostic imaging procedures started developing at Woodwinds Health Campus making it difficult for patients to schedule critical procedures. Some patients were waiting up to five days for an MRI when other medical centers could schedule an MRI within hours after an initial call. As competition intensified, HealthEast executives wanted to find a way to increase patient satisfaction and reduce costs.

Saint Paul College introduced Lean-Flow practices, a set of strategies first used in manufacturing, to improve efficiency in healthcare settings. Lean-Flow removes waste by eliminating unnecessary gaps in processes, balances the work load among employees and sets standards for organizing work areas.

In a joint effort, IBM and Rochester Community and Technical College applied for funding from the Minnesota Job Skills Partnership to address IBMs specific workforce needs.

IBM then supplied the subject matter expertise while the college supplied the educational know-how to create two custom training programs: IBMs Understanding and Working with Other Cultures program, and a Business Acumen class or mini MBA.
