David Paskach is the Associate General Counsel for American Foods Group, a large privately held Midwestern beef processor with operations in Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota, Nebraska and Ohio. Previously, he worked for the Schwan Food Company, holding positions of President Schwan's Venture Group, Executive Vice President of Administration, General Counsel and Secretary. After Schwan's, Paskach served as Interim Chief Operating Officer of the Southwest Initiative Foundation, and as a private attorney and business person.
Paskach received his J.D. in 1983 from the University of Illinois College of Law in Champaign, Illinois, and his bachelor of science degree in accounting in 1980 from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. He is admitted to the bars of Minnesota, Iowa and Illinois. Paskach served four years on active duty as a judge advocate in the United States Air Force after law school and continued his Air Force career as a reserve judge advocate until his retirement at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in December of 2004.
Paskach has served on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Inventors Congress, Pioneer Public Television and Boys Hope Girls Hope. He was the founding President of Lakeview Dollars for Scholars. He has also served as adjunct faculty at Southwest Minnesota State University. He and his wife Kyong Ae reside in Cottonwood and have four sons.
Governor Jesse Ventura appointed Paskach to the Board of Trustees in 2002 for a six-year term that expired on June 30, 2008. He was reappointed for a second six-year term by Governor Tim Pawlenty beginning July 1, 2008.
