Appointment of President of Southwest State University
The MnSCU Board of Trustees appointed Dr. David C. Danahar as president
of Southwest State University effective July 1, 2001, subject to the
completion of an employment contract.
Appointment to Academic Rank
The MnSCU Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Dr. Wilson Bradshaw,
President of Metropolitan State University, as Professor in the Psychology
Department of Metropolitan State University.
FY 2002 Revenue Fund Fees and Spending Plan
The MnSCU Board of Trustees approved the FY 2002 finance plans and associated
fees for residence hall/dining services and student union facilities
of the Revenue Fund. The Board also approved raising the ceiling on
the Student Union Facility Fee to $230.
Governor's 2001 Capital Budget Recommendation
The MnSCU Board of Trustees approved the development of a HEAPR priority
list for submissions to the 2001 Legislature subject to final Board
review and approval in March 2001. The Board deferred on other capital
project recommendations at this time in view of the planning and review
process now in progress for the 2002 legislative session.
MCCFA/UTCE Merger Legislation
The MnSCU Board of Trustees approved the requests of two institutions
(Rainy River Community College and Fond du Lac Tribal and Community
College) seeking to maintain a reserve level above the Board's maximum
guideline of seven (7) percent. The Board also approved the plan proposed
by Hennepin Technical College for reducing its reserve to seven (7)
percent.
Anoka-Hennepin Technical College Remodeling Project Schematic Design
The Board of Trustees approved the schematic design for Anoka-Hennepin
Technical College as presented, noting with concern, however, the lesser
quality roof replacement mandated by the legislature. The Chancellor
is requested to advise the Board regarding the status of fund raising
and/or use of other College funds representing the $500,000 renovation
portion of the project prior to the start of construction
Mission Review: Riverland Community College
The Board of Trustees approved Riverland Community and Technical College's
mission, vision, and purposes.
Program Approval: Certificate, Dispatcher, Central Lakes College
The Board of Trustees approved the request by Central Lakes College
to offer a certificate in Dispatcher at the Brainerd campus. Program
implementation is February 22, 2001.
Program Approval: Certificate, Latin American Studies, Central Lakes
College
The Board of Trustees approved the request by Central Lakes College
to offer a certificate in Latin American Studies at the Brainerd campus.
Program implementation is February 22, 2001.
Program Approval: AS, Nursing, RN, Minnesota State College - Southeast
Technical
The Board of Trustees approved the request by Minnesota State College
- Southeast Technical to offer an Associate in Science in Nursing, RN,
at the Red Wing and Winona campuses. Program implementation is scheduled
for August 1, 2001.
Program Closure: Minnesota State University, Mankato
The Board of Trustees approved the request by Minnesota State University,
Mankato to close the BS in Humanities program.
Domestic Partner Report
The Board of Trustees received the report of the taskforce on benefits
for domestic partners.
