Appointment of President of Anoka-Hennepin Technical College
The Board of Trustees appointed Anne Weyandt as president of Anoka-Hennepin
Technical College, effective April 18, 2001, and authorizes the Chancellor
to negotiate an employment contract to that effect, under the terms
and conditions of the Personnel Plan for MnSCU Administrators.
Appointment of Interim President of Minnesota State University,
Mankato
The Board of Trustees appointed Dr. Karen Boubel as interim president
of Minnesota State University, Mankato, effective upon the departure
of President Richard Rush, and authorizes the Chancellor to negotiate
an employment contract to that effect, under the terms and conditions
of the Personnel Plan for MnSCU Administrators.
Appointment of External Auditors
The Board of Trustees authorized the Executive Committee to appoint
the external auditors at the Executive Committee meeting on May 2, 2001.
Domestic Partner Report
The Board of Trustees supported the Council of Presidents' position
on domestic partner benefits, specifically:
- the ability of MnSCU's labor negotiators to engage in discussions with faculty bargaining units regarding domestic partner benefits, such as those for certain types of leaves;
- the ability of DOER negotiators to discuss health insurance benefits for domestic partners with faculty and staff bargaining units; and,
- the authority of presidents to extend local campus benefits to domestic partners, on the same basis as spouses, as they relate to facilities use, event discounts, etc.

Definitions of Regulations
The MnSCU Board of Trustees repealed Carry Forward Policy 1.1, Definitions
of Regulations.
St. Cloud State University - Lawrence Hall Remodeling
Schematic Design
The Board of Trustees approved the Schematic Design for the St. Cloud
State University Lawrence Hall Renovation project.
Southwest State University Property Acquisition
The Board of Trustees approved the purchase of the Southwest State University
Child Care Center from the Foundation for one dollar ($1.00).
Alexandria Technical College: New Classroom Building
Schematic Design
The Board of Trustees approved the Schematic Design for the Alexandria
Technical College Computer Science Building.
Contract Noncredit Instruction Financial Restructuring
The Board of Trustees approved an allocation methodology for funding
contract/noncredit instruction. The methodology will be fully implemented
in FY05.
Mission Review: Vermilion Community College
The Board of Trustees approved Vermilion Community College's vision,
mission, and purposes.
Program Approval: BA, Spanish; Southwest State University
The Board of Trustees approved the request by Southwest State University
to offer the Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. Program implementation is
August 1, 2001.
Program Approval: BAS, Manufacturing and Operations
Management; Metropolitan State University
The Board of Trustees approved the request by Metropolitan State University
to offer the Bachelor of Applied Science in Manufacturing and Operations
Management. Program implementation is August 1, 2001.
Program Approval: AS, Engineering; Century College
The Board of Trustees approved the request by Century College to offer
an Associate in Science in Engineering. Program implementation is May
1, 2001.
Program Approval: Certificate, Forestry Technician;
Northwest Technical College, Red Lake Reservation
The Board of Trustees approved the request by Northwest Technical Community
to offer a certificate in Forestry Technician at Red Lake Reservation.
Program implementation is August 1, 2001.
Program Approval: AAS, Industrial Model Making; Northwest
Technical College, Bemidji Campus
The MnSCU Board of Trustees approved the request by Northwest Technical
College to offer an Associate in Applied Science in Industrial Model
Making at Bemidji. Program implementation is August 1, 2001.
Program Closures: Century College
The MnSCU Board of Trustees approved the program closures at Century
College.
Revenue Fund Reinvestment Program: Defeasance of Current
Debt
The Board of Trustees approved the defeasance of current debt in the
Revenue Fund Reinvestment Program.
