System Office Task Force Report
The Board of Trustees approved the report from the System Office Task Force.
Minnesota West Community and Technical College - Worthington Campus,
YMCA Development
The Board of Trustees authorized Minnesota West Community and Technical
College to develop an outleasing plan for the Y development on the Worthington
Campus. Prior to implementation, the President of Minnesota West shall
report to the Board of Trustees on the Plan. The Chancellor is directed
to take the necessary action to seek legislative approval as required
for the Y to construct a building on state property. The overall plan
is to be returned to the Board for approval.
Northwest Technical College-Bemidji, High School Acquisition
The Board of Trustees approved the purchase of the Bemidji High School
property, subject to legislative approval and funding.
North Hennepin Community College - Gift Acceptance for New Greenhouse
The Board of Trustees accepted the gift of $250,000 from Alice P. Tessman
for design and construction of a greenhouse to be connected to the new
Science Building at North Hennepin Community College, and in accordance
with the donor conditions.
Ridgewater College - Building Addition for Veterinary Tech Program
The Board of Trustees approved the building expansion for the Veterinary
Tech program at Ridgewater College and directs the Chancellor to seek
appropriate legislative approval.
Revenue Fund FY 2001 Spending Plan
The Board of Trustees approved the FY 2001 finance plans and associated
fees for residence hall/dining services and student union facilities
of the Revenue Fund.
Revenue Fund Reinvestment Strategy
The Board of Trustees approved proceeding with the Revenue Fund Reinvestment
Program and directed the Chancellor to request additional bonding authority
in the amount up to $135 million from the 2000 legislature.
Amendment to MnSCU Policy 3.9 Licensure of Faculty Requiring a License
The Board of Trustees approved the amendment to MnSCU
Policy 3.9 Licensure of Faculty Requiring a License.
Program Approval: AAS, Webmaster, Itasca Community College
The Board of Trustees approved the request by Itasca Community College
to offer an Associate in Applied Science degree in Webmaster. Program
implementation is August 1, 2000.
Program Approval: AS, Corrections, Fond du Lac Tribal and Community
College
The Board of Trustees approved the request by Fond du Lac Tribal and
Community College to offer an Associate in Science in Corrections. Program
implementation is August 1, 2000.
Program Approval: Certificate, Emergency Management, Hennepin Technical
College
The Board of Trustees approved the request by Hennepin Technical College
to offer a certificate in Emergency Management at the Hopkins Technical
Center. Program implementation is May 22, 2000. Associate in Applied
Program Closures: AAS, Chiropractic Paraprofessional, Normandale
Community College, Northwestern College of Chiropractic Location
The Board of Trustees approved the request by Normandale Community College
to close the AAS, Chiropractic Paraprofessional program. Program closure
is February 15, 2000.
Personnel Actions
The Board of Trustees approved the Chancellor's recommendation to terminate
the appointment of David Sayre with MnSCU effective May 16, 2000.
