Program Approval: Diploma, Mining Heavy Equipment Operator, Hibbing Community
College
The Board of Trustees approved the request by Hibbing Community College
to offer a diploma in Mining Heavy Equipment Operator. Program implementation
is scheduled for August 1, 1999.
Program Approval: Certificate, CISCO Network Technician, Hibbing
Community College
The Board of Trustees approved the request by Hibbing Community College
to offer an Certificate in CISCO Network Technician. Program implementation
is scheduled for August 1, 1999.
Program Closure: Minneapolis Community and Technical College
The Board of Trustees approved the request by Minneapolis Community
and Technical College to close the following programs, effective June
1, 1999:
- CIP 08.010200 AAS, Fashion Management
- CIP 08.010200 Diploma, Fashion Management
Mission Review: Minneapolis Community and Technical College
The Board of Trustees approved the mission statement of Minneapolis
Community and Technical College.
Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree
The Board of Trustees formally endorsed Minnesota State Universty-Akita's
intention to exercise the authority to award an honorary doctorate degree
to Mr. Yasushi Akashi, at an honors ceremony in June, 1999 at the MSU-
Akita campus.
Minnesota State University, Mankato - Student Athletics Facilities
Remodeling Project
The Board of Trustees approved the demolition and replacement of Myers
Field House as described in attachment A (included in the March Board
packet on pages 81-102) and directed the Chancellor to make the appropriate
legislative notifications.
Minneapolis Community and Technical College - Schematic Design
The Board of Trustees approved the schematic design for the Minneapolis
Community and Technical College Library/Instructional Technology addition
and consolidation remodeling project.
Proposed Board Policy 5.8, Refunds, Withdrawals and Waivers
The Board of Trustees adopted MnSCU
Policy 5.8, Refunds, Withdrawals and Waivers, and repealed the following
carryforward policies:
- Community College Carryforward Policy IV.01.06, Completion of Enrollment
- Community College Carryforward Policy V.01.04, Refund of Tuition
and Fees, Total Withdrawal from College
- State University Carryforward Policy 5.7, Collection of Tuition,
Fees and Deposits
- State University Carryforward Policy 5.8, Refund of Tuition and
Fees
Minnesota West Community and Technical College Transfer of Real
Property
The Board of Trustees approved seeking legislative approval for
the transfer of real property at Minnesota West Community and Technical
College, Pipestone Campus. Property transfer shall comply with MnSCU
policies and procedures for real estate actions.
