Appointment of President, Fergus Falls Community College
The Board of Trustees approved Chancellor Anderson's recommendation and appointed Dr. Kenneth Peeders as president of Fergus Falls Community College, effective March 18, 1998.
Review of Delegation Principles (Facilities Committee)
The Board of Trustees approved the recommended facilities management
program administrative re-engineering and directed the Chancellor to
complete implementation steps. The Chancellor is further directed to
provide the resources necessary to ensure a successful transition. The
Chancellor will return to the Board in Summer 1998 with recommendations
concerning institutional real estate leases for the Board's approval.
Debt Management Guidelines 1998-2007
The Board of Trustees approved the recommended 1998-2007 debt management
guidelines as presented in the meeting materials. The Chancellor is
directed to communicate the Board's interests to the Governor and legislature.
MnSCU Reserves Policy
The Board of Trustees approved an amendment to MnSCU
Board Policy 5.4, concerning MnSCU Systemwide and institutional
reserves. The Chancellor is directed to implement the reporting requirements
effective with FY1999 budget preparation and reporting.
Revenue Fund FY1999 Spending Plan
The Board of Trustees approved the recommended FY1999 spending plans
and associated fees for residence hall/dining service and student union
programs.
Program Approval: BA, Gerontology, Moorhead State University
The Board of Trustees approved the request by Moorhead State University
to offer a Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Gerontology. Program implementation
is scheduled for September 1998.
Program Approval: Multimedia Specialist, AAS, Hibbing Community
College, A Community and Technical College
The Board of Trustees approved the request by Hibbing Community
College, a Technical and Community College, to offer an Associate in
Applied Science in Multimedia Specialist. Program implementation is
scheduled for Fall 1998.
Program Approval: Internet Media Technology, AAS and Diploma, Northwest
Technical College and University of Minnesota - Crookston
The Board of Trustees approved the request by Northwest Technical
College to offer an Associate in Applied Science in Internet Media Technology
and a diploma in Internet Media Technology at the East Grand Forks campus.
Program implementation is scheduled for Spring 1998.
Closure of Academic Programs, Mankato State University
The Board of Trustees approved the request for the following program
closures by Mankato State University:
