Background: The system bases its strategic
actions on assumptions about the condition of macro-environmental
elements like government regulations. Some of the considerations
for analyzing the Government Environmental Indicator are as follows:
- Legislative constraints on system decisions, e.g. tuition
rates, construction plans, contracting, etc.
- Stability of political leadership.
- Availability of state and federal budget resources.
- Other legislative mandates related to matters such as intellectual
property, labor regulation, and health and safety factors.
- Regulatory considerations.
The condition of this environmental indicator will be reassessed
as legislative proposals emerge and develop. For more information
