2008 Election Resource Guide

Minnesota will conduct a primary and general election this fall. Each district of the Minnesota House of Representatives will be on the ballot. At the federal level, all Congressional House seats will be on the November ballot, along with one U.S. Senate seat.

Primary Election: September 9, 2008
General Election: November 4, 2008

Here are four steps to be involved with the upcoming election. Learn both how to be invovled as an individual and how to get your campus more involved.

Register

First, to vote you must register. Learn the guidelines for registering, download a registration card or gain helpful tips to register students.

Learn

Find out which district you live in, and learn about the candidates running for office. This link also allows you to find candidates that align with your beliefs. You may also learn more about the system and individual campuses to share with candidates. Become an educated voter.

Engage

Once educated, it's time to take action. Find out what is happening on your campus, learn how to engage others and understand the rules and laws to host candidates on campus.

Vote

Locate your polling place, and promote voting on your campus.
